Text Messaging While Driving: Banned in New Hamshire

Effective from 1st January, texting while driving is banned in New Hampshire in order to avoid risky driving, Governors highway safety association declared. Oregon, Illinois will also join in similar kind of banning. NH’s law will also ban typing on laptop or other electronic devices, using twitter while driving while allowing only entering name and number to make phone calls. $100 fine will be imposed if any violation of the rule is found.

Earlier in 2002, a law to punish negligence and distracting other driver was enacted which used to ticket drivers for not clearing snows from vehicle roof and windshields in the winter as while driving snow will fly off and will be hazardous for other drivers can cause serious accident. Distraction law allows police to fine minimum $250 and maximum $500 for first time violation.

Mixed reactions have been received from citizens as they mostly prefer to be in touch with communication modules most of the time.
