Increasing number of US households choosing cellular phones without any landlines has been reported by Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently. Remaining consistent with its first report it shows that poor people prefer to live in homes which have only cell phones that rich or high earning group of people. Also the rate of people living in wireless-only homes is increasing among all income-group of people.

Also the report suggests that telephone habit is more influenced by the age and the location of living than by their economic status.

Most recent statistics shows, the ratio of only-wireless households has been doubled from 2006 to 2009 regardless of income status.
